I'm Emily P., the breeder behind Malta Pugs located in Glendale/Azalea, OR. Pugs have captured our hearts! It is my personal goal to enrich other's lives by providing healthy Pugs that have been tested and cleared for common Pug-specific genetic diseases. I am dedicated to the breed standard and breed for conformation and health. Remember, All reputable breeders of pugs are not interested in the development of any color of pug other than fawn or black. You won't find any fad or novelty colors here. Please purchase responsibly from breeders who at the bare minimum test for PDE & show proof.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I fell in love with our first Pug who is the epitome of the perfect dog. I began to notice poor breeding practices in our state that would result in many unhappy or heartbroken Pug owners. This made me want to put my passion to good use and responsibly breed Pugs to the AKC standard.

  • What makes your program special?

    I am passionate about this breed, and my love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of my breeding program. My dogs and puppies are valued members of my family, and they get the best care I can provide. Currently, we only expect two to four litters per year. My prices reflect our small-scale & the individual dedication to each dog in my home. I breed to share the love of pugs and my goals revolve around keeping the special character traits and body type of a breed standard pug.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Emily

Emily has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $375 non-refundable deposit and $3,375 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppy prices are non-negotiable. Limited AKC registration. I do not sell puppies with breeding rights. The deposit is to hold your puppy, I require 10% of the full cost of puppy which comes to a deposit of $375.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Full Embark Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD), Pug Type, Pug Dog Encephalitis (PDE)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We lost our soul pug earlier this year after 10.5 wonderful years together, and it was completely unexpected. Since then, we’ve been waiting and searching for the perfect new addition to our family. Many breeders in our area focus on “fashion” colors, but to me, that’s not what a pug represents.
