Meet the breeder

I'm Mary R., the breeder behind Mare-bella Dachshunds located in Crystal, MI. We at Mare-bella Dachshunds raise top quality miniature dachshund puppies with excellent temperaments that make wonderful companions for you, your child, or an elderly friend or parent. The longhaired red line dachshunds are raised by my sister Natalie at her farm and the English Creams by myself here at mine. We take the utmost care of each and every one. It is our earnest desire that each pup finds the most loving and caring parent and home to live out the rest of his life with. marebelladachshunds.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

Many years back, we bought a miniature dachshund as a buddy for our 9 year old son. As it happens with dachshunds, we bought another soon after. Needless to say, we all fell madly in love. Our children have had so many years of being able to touch, hug, kiss and love God's beautiful little creation, the dachshund. I am happy to have been able to give our children this joy!
  • What makes your program special?

We strive to make our dogs and puppies as comfortable and happy as can be. All of the dogs and puppies get personal care on a daily basis. They are our pets first and we really love them! We and our children give them plenty of hugs and kisses as soon as they are able to be handled. We also put a special emphasis on nutrition, feeding our puppies and dogs top quality food and vitamins. Another special thing about our kennel is that we have the true English Creams. The English Creams were designed in England. It took 26 years for Ruth Walters to create them. She did so by removing the red gene from the DNA. In doing this, she created a dachshund who is relaxed and easy going...much like a golden retriever. They are really a specialty item and are very much sought after!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, cream, red, black and tan, blue and cream, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
