Getting a puppy from Greg

Greg has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Greg partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,250 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Parent health testing

McLovin Doxies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dachshunds.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy (PRA-crd), Standard Wirehaired Dachshund Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Finding Greg was a dream come true for our family. We wanted to surprise our girls with a Christmas puppy and he made that dream a reality and went above and beyond. From the moment we started communicating he welcomed me into his home to meet the parents of the puppy we would be getting. I spent time getting to know his dogs and the personality of the breed. Gregs dogs are loving, affectionate and ADORABLE. Greg and Nicole delivered our beautiful puppy Ivy on Christmas Day and made the experience so incredibly special for our girls. A day I’ll never forget. Ivy is the perfection addition to our family. She is the sweetest, most gorgeous girl. If you want a Velcro dog that will be by your side all the time this is the dog for you. I’ve never experienced such love from a dog. She is so smart, loving, affectionate and playful. Greg made the training process easy and is always available to give you tips and advice. I can’t recommend Mclovin doxies enough !!!

    Before meeting Greg, we met one of Greg’s pups that a friend recently brought into her family. She referred us to Greg, and I’m so grateful that she did!! We love our mini doxie Circe (aka Tinsel)! Greg was professional, kind, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and communicative from beginning to end. Receiving frequent photos and FaceTiming with Greg when the litter was born was so special! It’s clear Greg deeply loves his pups and it’s very comforting to see the level of care Greg brings to the entire journey. Greg and his wife were incredibly welcoming during our gotchya day and provided us with a thoughtful bag of treats, toys, food, a blanket, and a variety of accessories that we’re so grateful for.     Our puppy is amazing! She is 8 months old and now that we have really gotten to know her, I'd love to take a minute to share how great this experience has been. Greg was fantastic to work with and really helpful in making sure we were prepared for our new puppy. He is very knowledgeable about dachshunds and was able to provide advice on everything we needed to know from how to properly hold these wiggly, little pups to harness brand recommendations for their unique bodies. About our dog: Snuggling 10/10 Potty training 7/10 Follows commands 9/10 Playful 10/10 Social skills 10/10 Softness 10/10 Cuteness 100/10 We received the perfect family dog from McLovin Doxies. Our miniature long haired dachshund is super snuggly and soft. She loves other dogs and people (including kids!). We socialized her early, so she does really well at restaurants and parks. Potty training took us a while but we finally got there at about 7 months. She is very playful with our daughters but could also spend the whole day napping the sun. She is such a doll we constantly get offers from friends and neighbors to dog sit her. I'm so glad I found our puppy through Good Dog with Greg!

    Bringing Moose home in November was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! From the very beginning, Greg was incredibly communicative, kind, and responsive to every question I had. Before pickup day, he regularly shared the sweetest videos of Moose and his littermates playing and interacting, which made the whole experience even more special. What really sets Greg apart is how much he genuinely cares about his dogs and the families they go to. Even now, Greg, his wife, and I still keep in touch by sharing photos and videos of Moose and getting updates on Daphne and Brisket (his parents!). It truly feels like joining an extended family. Choosing a breeder can feel overwhelming, but I can confidently say Greg is absolutely wonderful. He cares deeply for his doxies and the litters they produce, and it shows in every step of the process. I couldn’t recommend him more highly!

    We made the BEST decision ever when we got our little Huey from McLovin Doxies. I cannot say enough amazing things about them. Greg provided regular updates while Huey was still too little to come home, FaceTimed my husband and I, and gave us a crash course on all things dachshund. Huey was also socialized around other kids and with other dogs while with Greg, making him a very well-adjusted dog when he arrived at home. Ok pick-up day, they welcomed my husband and I into their home, treated us to lunch, and let us leave with a goodie bag of essentials for Huey/a crate to begin crate training. Huey is such a sweet boy and it’s so clear to us his early days were spent in a very loving environment. It was such a smooth, positive experience and would recommend McLovin Doxies to anyone interested in getting a little guy (or girl) of their own.
