pupdate! t.h.r.e.e weeks old! Sunday photoshoots and pedicures was a little longer of a process this week. Pictures aren’t so easy these days with these little beauts starting to be on the move! Pups are exposed to different sounds and people. We will be starting gruel in addition to Mama P’s nursing time this week. They tasted goats milk for the first time, and they loved it. Personalities are starting to show. The sweet tender play times still look like drunk friends leaving a bar after a good night. They have some new toys to play with for when they’re awake and we have introduced a potty area, that some are doing very well with.

About Penny
Penelope is truly the ideal family dog. With her gentle disposition, she delights in swimming at the beach, going on walks, playing fetch, and, of course, cuddling. Penny is AKC-registered and has completed all recommended health screenings, including a full genetic Labrador Retriever panel, PennHIP and OFA tests. She is a large field-bred "American" Labrador Retriever weighing approximately 69 pounds.
Great health testing
Great level
Meadow Pond Retrievers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
