I'm Laura Y., the breeder behind Meadow Ridge Dachshunds located in Ormond Beach, FL. At Meadow Ridge, we’re dedicated to preserving and responsibly growing this wonderful breed by raising happy, healthy, and well-socialized puppies. All of our litters are raised right in our home, where they’re loved, nurtured, and gently exposed to everyday life. This helps build a strong foundation for each puppy—one that supports a smooth transition into their forever families with confidence and joy. Breeding isn’t just a passion for us—it’s a privilege. We take great care in every step of the process, and we’re honored to make a lasting impact on each little life we help bring into the world.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of breeding dogs. I have a love of the Dachshund breed, their personalities, beautiful soulful eyes, and yes, their adorable figure! Upon retiring from teaching and becoming an empty nester, I decided it was time to realize my dream. I found an experienced breeder to mentor me along this journey, and I am proud of the program I’ve developed.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is special because I am not breeding for profit. I am breeding pets for wonderful temperament and loyal companionship. I believe in consistent positive training to pick up where genetics leaves off. My pups are fed fresh foods, are kept healthy, free of disease, are heavily socialized, and lavished with love. I begin potty/crate training early to help with transitioning home.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Laura

Laura has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Laura partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Consideration of price includes sex, coat color, & confirmation. This price includes veterinarian’s health guarantee, deworming at 2, 4, and 6 weeks, first round of vaccines, & potty/crate training. Deposits are non-refundable unless there is some unforeseen circumstance with regard to the health of the puppy reserved.”

Contract & health guarantee

Laura may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. From day one she has been incredibly responsive and genuinely involved, guiding us through every step while we were waiting for Doya to come home. She recommended what to get, what to prepare, and what to expect so Doya would feel at ease from the moment he arrived. We’re completely in love with him, our tiny little runt of the litter, and it shows how well she cared for him.
