I'm Katie I., the breeder behind Meissa Collies located in Silverton, OR. We’re so excited to be able to help families experience the longtime loyalty of welcoming a new puppy into their lives! We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. Why did you start breeding?
Dog shows have held a special fascination for me for many years. After I got my first Collie in 2016, I decided I wanted to be involved in the continued excellence of the breed. I got my first show Collie in 2020.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and $1,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About Scarlett
Scarlett is a very special girl and is up for anything. That could be cuddling on the couch, helping catch escaping goats, meeting 45 preschoolers for a field trip, or participating in barn hunt. She is also a show dog and participates in conformation competitions during the winter months.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel, Dermatomyositis, PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 2 (rcd2), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
