I'm Melissa C., the breeder behind Melrae Dobermans located in Paducah, KY. We are enthusiastically breeding, showing, and loving AKC registered Dobermans. We have been in the breed for over 20 plus years. Our Dobermans are bred for temperament, health, and longevity. We strive to produce the best dogs possible by researching pedigrees for these qualities.
Q. & A. with Melissa
Why did you start breeding?
I decided to breed Sookie after finishing her AKC Championship. She is the foundation of Melrae Dobermans. It's been a joyful commitment, and it is a pleasure to live with, work with, and share with others these wonderful dogs.
What makes your program special?
I try to produce well-rounded Dobermans with great temperaments, beauty, and soundness. I also am actively involved with the Juniors Program and have several dogs in juniors' homes to help continue the future of the show world fancy.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
