Meet the breeder

I'm Melissa B., the breeder behind Mel's LowRider Ranch located in Centerville, GA. I have always had a deep love for dogs, but longhaired Miniature Dachshunds hold a special place in my heart. Their loving nature, playful personalities, and beautiful appearance make them truly unique. What started as admiration quickly grew into a passion for breeding these wonderful companions. Breeding longhaired Miniature Dachshunds is more than a hobby for me—it is something I genuinely love and take pride in. I am dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized puppies with excellent temperaments and strong bloodlines. I believe every puppy deserves the best start in life, so I provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment from day one. What I love most about this breed is their affectionate personality and loyal companionship. They may be small, but they are full of confidence, charm, and character. Seeing the joy they bring to families is the most rewarding part of what I do. My goal is to preserve the beauty and quality of the breed while ensuring each puppy is raised with love, care, and purpose. Sharing these amazing dogs with others is truly a blessing and a passion I am proud of.

I chose Sigi from a host of dachshund pups after seeing her parents and talking at length to Melissa. I loved the fact that she had been raised in a home and exposed to so much. She’s a very confident little girl, afraid of nothing! She did test positive for a parasite on her first check, but it was corrected with one dose. Florida has stricter requirements for puppy sales, but this was not a deal breaker. She’s a spirited handful at 5 months, just like a dachshund should be. And nobody can resist petting this friendly pup.
