I'm Roberta P., the breeder behind Meridian Labradors located in Leesburg, VA. Every puppy we raise is adored as part of our family from birth. Our puppies will complete your home, your family, and your heart! We focus on the proper development of all our puppies because we know that each one is unique and deserving of undivided love and attention. Each puppy is bred, raised, and loved indoors to ensure health, happiness, and harmony at the start of its life. With our pups, beauty is a given, but producing healthy, loving, and versatile dogs that conform to the Labrador Retriever breed standard is our true goal.
Q. & A. with Roberta
Why did you start breeding?
I helped a friend raise several of her Labrador litters.
What makes your program special?
They are used to being touched all over their bodies: nose, mouth, eyes, ears, belly, back, tail, all four paws and toes. This is called cooperative (vet) care.
I am following teachings from Avidog (in person seminars and online), Puppy Culture, Pat Hastings, U.C. Davis CA theriogenology department, and various breeders who presented on Kokopelli webinars, most notably Kerry Nichols. The dam and sire both have extensive health clearances, solid pedigrees, and several titles. I will register the puppies with AKC limited registration for their new families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
