Q. & A. with Mollie
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding to better the breed, temperament, and share the love I have for aussies. I care a lot about genetic testing and temperament through out my program and spend lots of my time training and now we are all getting. Our dogs are AKC and ASDR registered. I care about breeding family friendly dogs and I base my program around that.
What makes your program special?
What makes my breeding program special is the level of commitment I put into my dogs. They are spoiled beyond belief but I take time to train every individual dog that away they all can lay around my house in their own beds or even in mine and enjoy life without a kennel! I believe in being able to work with each and every individual dog and never overwhelm myself to a point where I have several dogs that don’t get enough attention!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle and red merle. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, red merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Mesquite Tree Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Miniature Australian Shepherds.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
