I'm Michelle W., the breeder behind Michelle Walgren's Dachshunds located in Andover, MN. My focus is on maintaining the Dachshund breed standard by raising quality, structurally sound pups with excellent temperaments. I am very passionate about health and genetic testing when it comes to my breeding program, and every decision is made accordingly. I take my job seriously knowing that my puppies will become someone's well-loved pet. Each puppy is considered a member of my family and I ensure they are socialized, healthy, and prepared to excel in their forever homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    A consistent love for the Dachshund breed and my experience with dog training encouraged the beginning of my program. I wanted to do my part to better the breed. My program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the breed while placing an emphasis on producing Dachshunds of superior health, temperament, and conformation. I pride myself on helping all of my adopting families find the right fit for their needs and lifestyle.

  • What makes your program special?

    I work with passion, heart, integrity, and truly want what's best for the Dachshund line and my adopting families. I have done a lot of research to set a good foundation for my program and am constantly looking to learn more and improve. My dogs are all CHIC certified in canine health prior to breeding, to ensure that the puppies I produce come from healthy parents. Welcoming a Dachshund puppy into your lives, home, and heart is a huge undertaking and blessing. I strive to find the right match for every family.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Michelle

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
