I'm Emily H., the breeder behind Mid-Plains Mini Aussies located in Friend, NE. Our dogs are bred for health, loyalty, intelligence, and companionship. They can cuddle on the couch or head out to work with you, making an excellent all-around dog. They come from DNA health-tested and conformationally correct parents so showing them is also an option.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got our female as a companion first and foremost and quickly realized her quality, loyalty, intelligence, and companionship were worth sharing with the world. We took about 3 years to find the perfect male to cross her with who quickly became family too with his sweetness, dashing good looks, and personality. We also took that time to become as educated about it as possible.

  • What makes your program special?

    My program focuses on well-rounded puppies that have seen many things prior to going to their new homes. We live on 5-acres with a variety of different terrains, other animals, and noises to become familiar with. They will also all of had their first bathes and go home with some additional gifts in a nice canvas bag. Our puppies get a lot of attention.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Emily

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Emily partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,350 - $2,450 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Tri’s are 1600 and merles are 1900, regardless of gender. An additional $800 is added if you desire breeding rights. Prices could fluctuate depending on eye color.”

Emily may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
