I'm Troy W., the breeder behind Midwest Labrador’s located in Coldwater, OH. Welcome to Midwest Labrador! We breed high-caliber American field Labs (85lb sire/72lb dam). All parents are OFA and DNA cleared for EIC/CNM/PRA. Pups get ENS training, bird/water exposure, microchips, vaccines, and a health guarantee. Built for serious hunting and active homes.

Why did you start breeding?
Passionate about waterfowl and upland hunting, we set out to breed working retrievers that excel in performance without compromising health or temperament. Seeing the difference a health-cleared, well-conditioned hunting companion makes in the field inspired us to raise top-tier field Labs for hunters and active outdoor families.What makes your program special?
We combine proven working titles (HRCH sire / Started dam) with complete health testing (OFA Hips/Elbows & DNA clear of EIC, CNM, PRA). Pups undergo Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) from Days 3–16 and early bird wing, duck scent, and water exposure. All puppies go home microchipped, vet-checked, vaccinated, dewormed, and backed by a written health guarantee.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
Getting a puppy from Troy
Troy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Troy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

While deposit order determines selection sequence, we work closely with each approved buyer to match puppies based on their specific needs—whether they want a high-drive waterfowl/upland hunter, an active outdoor companion, or a calm family dog.”
Price
“Price includes AKC registration, health guarantee, microchip, vaccines, deworming, vet exam, ENS protocols, early field conditioning, and puppy starter pack. Parents fully health-tested. Deposits secure your spot on the waitlist in order received and apply directly to the total price. Deposits are non-refundable unless we cannot provide a puppy for you.”

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
