Meet the breeder

I'm Lacey H., the breeder behind Midwest Mini/Toy Aussies located in Broadwater, NE. We have done lots of research on the breed and are aiming for the same look as the standards just in a smaller form. We have adamantly bred into them an "off" switch that enables each dog to readily adapt from workers and herders to house dogs and companions. All of our dogs pets first and are part of our family.

Q. & A. with Lacey

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding when my first year of college when I got a mini aussie and loved the breed. I wanted to share them with everyone! I began researching and went from there so we now have our own small program that has taken a lot of time and work to create.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is special because we handle our dogs daily. They get one on one time, are very socialized, and are part of the family. We take them to shows but also use them on the ranch. All dogs are genetic health tested to ensure we are raising and producing the best offspring.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
