Meet the breeder

I'm Peg M., the breeder behind Miles Collies located in Hopkinton, IA. Raising Collies is something we've always wanted to do. Now we've got the time and the devotion that is needed to raise a litter of puppies. At Miles Collies we want your next Collie to live a long and healthy life. That's why we do extensive DNA and OFA testing.

Q. & A. with Peg

  • Why did you start breeding?

It's something I've always wanted to do. We were fortunate that our first breeding female had excellent DNA results that were available back then. We kept Colby our Blue Merle boy from her last litter. His temperament, loving nature he passes on to his puppies. I love that and want others to enjoy it too.
  • What makes your program special?

Our Collies are Non Carriers for CEA, PRA, CN, DM, MDR1. With Very low DMS scores. They are also OFA tested for hips, elbows, thyroid, cardiac, and dentition. We want your next companion to live a long healthy life, That is why we do extensive DNA & OFA testing. Health and Temperament are our main goal, and It also doesn't hurt to have a Great looking Collie by your side.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black white and tan, sable, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
