FIVE WEEKS OLD!! We’ve been busy learning this week! Puppies are reliably potty pad trained (spent an hour and a half out at one point today, ZERO accidents!) and are all sitting for attention and to be put back in their pen. They love their playlist of desensitization sounds - it’s instantly calming to them! I’ll send all the details to their new families. 😊 Working on the beginnings of their “puppy profiles” to start the process of matching families next week.

The puppies turned one month old yesterday, and we had such a fun milestone tonight — they got to run around with “Aunt Juniper,” our tiny shih tzu/poodle mix who was dumped here almost exactly two years ago. She wasn’t too sure about them at first, but that lasted maybe 30 seconds before she decided they were her new tiny playmates. She had them racing all over the dining room and kitchen, and I’m pretty sure they’ll sleep very well tonight. Their personalities are starting to peek through, and I’m loving this stage. ✨ Most are pretty laid back so far (ask me again tomorrow!) ✨ Very into exploring and following me everywhere, yet already great about not getting underfoot ✨ Each one is incredibly affectionate — if I sit, I instantly become a puppy pile ✨ When they hear their door open, they start a hilarious little group bark-fest ✨ Transitioning beautifully to softened kibble + goat milk “mush” ✨ They come running the second they see me ✨ They’ve had lots of exposure to normal household life — sweeping, mopping, laundry piles (their favorite…), and all the daily noise that goes with it. ✨ They're told "Aww you're CUTE!" multiple times a day by our VERY supportive African Grey parrot, Leo. This litter has needed a bit more hands-on support from me, and I apologize for the slow updates. Oakley has needed more breaks with this group than she did with her previous litters, so I’ve been stepping in to make sure everyone stays on track and thriving. Everyone is growing beautifully and hitting their milestones right on time.

Yesterday, the pups moved to a larger pen and were introduced to a litter box. They have explored it and a couple have started to use it already. We’ll work to get everyone using it reliably over the course of the week to assist us with beginning housebreaking in the coming weeks. Everyone is thriving and personalities are starting to show a little bit!

First “mush” meal - they all (almost literally, going to need wipe downs later) dove right in!

Saturday night dinner cuddles and some playtime! Interesting how they hang out in same color piles so often.

Pardon the potties! This was less than 30 minutes after clean puppy pads, they keep me (and our washer and dryer!) busy. Puppies are up walking and starting to wrestle with their siblings!

About Miller
Miller is my heart dog. He is one of the greatest additions to my life and I couldn't love him more. Personality plus, he loves every creature he meets! He'll take a moment to warm up to new people, but he just wants to be sure everyone in his care is safe. You'll notice he looks a little bit different, unfortunately he was badly injured by our neighbors dogs resulting in amputation of his front left leg. Veterinary paperwork is available to assure you it was injury related and not a health issue.
