Q. & A. with Jean
Why did you start breeding?
Millpond Pugs was started in 1998 with the gift of a great little dog, Tonka, who was a group placing Pug that was the best first Pug ever! He was shortly followed by the purchase of his niece, Swizzle. Swizzle had an amazing show career in which she ended as the #3 female in the US with a Best Of Opposite Sex award at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club. She was the foundation of my breeding program although she only ever had one puppy. That puppy, Martini, took me to a whole other level in Pugs. I am now enjoying showing Martini's grandchildren.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
