I'm Jennifer D., the breeder behind Mini Hippo Land located in Hugo, OK. We offer a variety of puppies including purebred Shar-Pei, Cocker Spaniel, and the ever so popular Mini Hippo Dog! Mini Hippo dog is a mix between the Chinese Shar-Pei and American Cocker Spaniel, more commonly referred to as a Mini Hippo puppy. They are raised inside of our home with our family and other pets. Puppies start on potty training around 5-6 weeks of age and come pre-spoiled.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    When I was younger and didn’t know what to look for in a responsible breeder I ended up purchasing three different dogs from three different breeders over the course of a few years, all ended up with some sort of genetic health condition. It was devastating for me and it made me want to get into breeding so that others would never have to go through what I went through losing my beloved pets.

  • What makes your program special?

    I’ve loved animals since childhood, and my passion for breeding began 10 years ago with Great Danes. My husband and I ran a dog and wildlife rescue, housing raptors with state and federal permits. Breeding fascinates me, especially the genetics behind it, but bringing joy to families is what drives me. We live on 20 wooded acres near Lake Hugo, where our dogs enjoy adventure, nature, and love.   • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Companion Cross puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Companion Cross puppies include long and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Companion Cross puppies include red, black and tan, blue, brindle, black, cream, white, black and white, and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jennifer

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $800 - $3,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.
