I'm Missy, the breeder behind Missy’s Mini Dachshunds located in Ballinger, TX. Hi from west Texas! I'm a small breeder with a few litters a year. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, caring for and rehoming our puppies.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My first pet as a small child was a dachshund mix and I’ve always loved them. As my four kids grew older, and I had more free time, I knew I wanted a dachshund again. I researched and chose a puppy, and couldn’t wait to meet her. In the breeder’s home, surrounded by dachshunds begging for attention, I knew I wanted my home to be that full! I got another, and another and here we are! ❤️

  • What makes your program special?

    As dachshunds get more popular, the amount of breeders are increasing, so I know you have options. I just hope, after getting to know me and my program, I can earn your trust and help you complete your family with a precious dachshund puppy!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Missy

Missy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Missy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“**I enjoy getting to know you on social media for a more personal feel. Puppies are typically matched to families after they turn two weeks old. I discuss with the family what they are looking for in temperament and size. I will want to know if they have other pets or children, how the dog will be cared for during the day, etc. I do my best to judge puppies personalities as soon as possible but I can never guarantee temperament, or size.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $3,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price range listed is for limited, pet only. Not all puppies come with full AKC breeding rights/papers. Please ask if you’re interested in full AKC breeding rights. Nonrefundable. Deposit goes toward the total cost of the puppy. Exception: If it is MY decision that the puppy can no longer be rehomed for any reason, the deposit may be refunded.”

Missy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
