Meet the breeder

I'm Elizabeth I., the breeder behind Mockingbird Border Collies located in Shreveport, LA. We proudly produce conformation line Border Collies that can excel in several sports. Our goal is to combine looks with ability. Our Border Collies are bred for health and temperament, focusing on conformation. We strive to produce show quality dogs that can excel in a variety of sports and activities, as well as be great pets.

Q. & A. with Elizabeth

  • Why did you start breeding?

I've been in Border Collies for most of my life and purchased my first show line, Finch, in 2019. I never intended to show or breed, but after several years of conformation shows and an assortment of sport trials, it was clear that Finch was something special. My lovely mentor has spent the last few years guiding me and has now given me the opportunity to co-breed a litter with her.
  • What makes your program special?

Mockingbird Border Collies strives to produce the ideal "all around" dog. I want the dogs I produced to excel in every sport venue, as well as being excellent companions. I also want to preserve the innate herding instinct that sets the breed apart from others. Finn and I are currently working towards the coveted Versatility award granted by the Border Collie Society of America.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
