I'm Shary S., the breeder behind Mohawk Creek Dachshunds located in Warsaw, OH. We fell in love with the Dachshund 12 years ago and strive to improve the breed. We hope to provide others with the opportunity to find their best forever friend, unconditional love and joy (and humor!). As our dogs have given to us, we hope to give to others.
Q. & A. with Shary
Why did you start breeding?
Our breeding program switched from German shepherds to dachshunds in 2012-13. We were “gifted” with our first dachshund, a little guy we named “Gunnar”. He was “defective” but the single happiest soul we ever knew, despite his disabilities (and was CERTAIN he WAS a German shepherd!) He never met a stranger, loved everyone. We set out on a mission to improve the breed in his honor. ❤️
What makes your program special?
Good minded “real” dogs, raised with love and discipline, strong, sturdy and smart! They travel, hike, kayak and patrol the farm! We CARE!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
