I'm Monica H., the breeder behind Monica’s Treasured Dachshunds located in Humble, TX. We offer top-quality AKC, loving family pets with an emphasis on the quality of the breed. We are currently offering long hair only. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament and carry various colors and patterns. Our primary objective is to provide healthy, happy dogs for our future families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have loved and raised dachshunds for the past 20 years and one thing I noticed in the past couple of years is how difficult it is to find a reputable breeder in our area; so I decided that with the knowledge I have, I would love to help preserve the breed and fill a need where I am located. These dogs are amazing and more people need to know that!

  • What makes your program special?

    I have several breeding pairs currently; What makes my program special is that it is a temporary one. I love my dogs so deeply that I don’t have the heart to retire and rehome my females. Once a dog comes into my home it is my family member and I will never rehome after retiring them.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black and cream, chocolate and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Monica

Monica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Monica partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. That being said, we put so much work into our puppies. They always leave here with the best temperaments and disposition. We hold puppies for the first few weeks to ensure there are no health concerns.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $2,800 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our price includes health guarantee, AKC registration, microchipping, ESI and ENS exposure training, deworming, first round of vaccinations, puppy socialization, vet’s health certificate and a go home bag. Deposit is non refundable and will hold your puppy. Full remaining balance is due at pickup.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Profile, DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
