I'm Monica H., the breeder behind Monica’s Treasured Dachshunds located in Humble, TX. We offer top-quality, loving family pets with an emphasis on the quality of the breed. We are currently offering smooth and long hair. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament and carry various colors and patterns. Our primary objective is to provide healthy, happy dogs for our future families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have loved and raised dachshunds for the past 20 years and one thing I noticed in the past couple of years is how difficult it is to find a reputable breeder in our area; so I decided that with the knowledge I have, I would love to help preserve the breed and fill a need where I am located. These dogs are amazing and more people need to know that!

  • What makes your program special?

    I have 3 breeding pairs currently; What makes my program special is that it is a temporary one. I love my dogs so deeply that I don’t have the heart to retire and rehome my females. Once a dog comes into my home it is my family member and I will never rehome after retiring them.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black and cream, chocolate and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Monica

Monica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our price includes health guarantee, AKC registration, ESI and ENS exposure training, deworming, first round of vaccinations, puppy socialization, vet’s health certificate and a go home bag. Deposit is non refundable and will hold your puppy. Full remaining balance is due at pickup.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Profile, DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Monica was fabulous to work with and so knowledgeable of not only the breed but our individual puppy. You can feel her love for her dogs and how connected she is to each and every one of them.
