Montview Labradors

Julie O.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Julie O., the breeder behind Montview Labradors located in Bozeman, MT. Our ideal Labrador is one who can stand with beauty and poise in the show ring in the morning, go hunting or play with kids in the park in the afternoon, and sleep at his master's side on the couch at the end of the day. Temperament, health, beauty and retrieving instinct are those things that are most important in our dogs, and we will maintain high standards when considering these things in any future breeding. All Montview labs to be used in our breeding program will have complete health clearances and be sound in temperament. We also strive to produce a dog who is easily trained for obedience, hunt tests, and other performance events.

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

In looking for the breed which was extremely versatile, family-friendly, and low-maintenance with a love for the outdoors, we settled on labradors. As a veterinarian and competitor in show and performance events, I became more involved in breeding, first through our stud dogs and then through some lovely girls who joined our breeding program.
  • What makes your program special?

Temperament and health are our top concerns, followed by breeding beautiful dogs with phenomenal retrieving/hunting ability. We strive for a versatile, athletic, loving labrador who can hunt with its owner during the morning, compete in a dog show during the day, and quietly sleep on a child's bed at night.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
