Maize Mae She got her nails done today, worked more on her general obedience/recall/stay, and weighed in at 33lbs and 19” tall! Very nice build with a great mind on her that would excel in herding or even barn hunt!

Maize had her first public evaluation outing after her return on the 20th. She was handed off to a trusted stranger with no introduction or guidance to see how she would handle being separated and walking with a stranger. She did wonderful and handled it with ease! She also worked on her general obedience and walking on different surfaces to test her confidence. To which she also passed with flying colors. This girl is super smart and will make the right family a wonderful addition!

Pups are having lots of fun in the snow and chasing discs!!! Or just running and chasing in Dusty’s case. Katelyn loves disc time both in and outside and running as much as she can with both Mom and Dad ❄️🐾

Treadmill Day 🐾 💨 Today (12/30) we slowly introduced the wood slat treadmill to the pups in preparation for severe weather coming our way. Very short introductory session that was merely having them stand on the treadmill comfortably and a high value reward encouraging their behavior! Katelyn on the other hand decided she was comfortable enough to try and walk a little! Like a little champion, she is on a mission of success. All under five minutes and each one of them accomplish something huge within themselves. While they will continue to go outside to use the bathroom and exercise/play, it’s a great option for when it may not be feasible in exercising in below freezing weather for prolonged periods of time. Plus, it sets them up for a successful future for their new owners if they decide to utilize a tool such as a treadmill. Pig and Delilah got some nice run time in on the treadmill as well!

While a majority of these pups are going to their new homes this week, we had some fun in the golden sun one last time before they are off on their big adventure of life! Dusty is coming out of her shell a bit more and Tug puppy is loving the adventure side of life. She is going to make an amazing disc dog ❤️🥏🐾

All the babies are learning their basic commands such as Come, Sit, and “No jumping”. “Tug Puppy” and “Paint Horse” are here to show you how well they’re doing with sitting! Very loving girl and such a quick learner. Paint horse is a very mellow guy who is starting to show a little bit of funk and spunk! All of them are learning one on one house skills and manners very well and will be quite the addition to any family ❤️🐾

Border Collie
About Hitch “Pig”
Hitch is a multi-purpose service dog task trained for Cardiac/Blood pressure alert, Migraine alert, light guide work, and item retrieval. Hitch excels in Both Dock Diving and disc primarily outside of his daily work as a medical service dog. He has been in the Top 20% for National Championship in NADD 2023-2024 earning automatic invites to regionals next season. Amazing companion with an incredible “off switch” in all situations and environments. This is a dog that can jump nearly 30’ on ground and scale an 8’ wall, but will be held in by a 2’ “gate” unless called over. He has a level head on him that makes it easy to work with and love.

Border Collie
About Delilah
Delilah is a very quick learner and is a loaded fur missile that has an “off switch” that is phenomenal and useful during day to day life and sporting events! Calm demeanor and a respectful young lady. She excels in dock diving, disc, and herding. Has a strong head and will, but very loyal and a hard worker. She’s not aggressive and is one that I can leave outside for the day with chickens and she will calmly keep them together while letting them roam, but never run them or go after them. Natural born worker with skills that go far. VERY trusting dog with a heart of gold and will work hard and earns her keep inside the ring and outside the home (inside too. She sleeps on the bed like a princess and keeps an eye out for nightly trouble through the windows) She is very athletic and agile. She can move animals with grace or with force if necessary. Her athleticism is something that is admirable and leaves many speechless when in her presence either working or competing. She is a soft soul with a fierce presence when she enters a room, ring, or pasture.
