I'm Kara M., the breeder behind Mosley Shih Tzu located in League City, TX. I find so much joy in watching my puppies grow and develop their own unique personalities. I can’t wait for you to pick out your loyal companion! They come potty trained(and I was told from another breeder that I’m one of the only breeders that sends their puppies off knowing they are potty trained!!!), sensitized to clippers/scissors, nail trimming, and socialized with people and other Shih Tzus from my home. I am a small in home breeder and have unique rare colors to have that one of a find puppy for YOU!! Keep checking back for litter announcements!!!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding AKC when I realized that I had a true love and passion for it. I love the colors that I produce and I love the end puppy result that I deliver every time. I spend a lot of time training the puppy not just selling a puppy. I believe people deserve a puppy that has a great temperament and won’t eat poop or tear up your house. A lot of people do not ask these crucial questions. Please do your research about hernias in Shih Tzus also. Just in case.

  • What makes your program special?

    I give a lot of time to my puppies. I begin the process of potty training and nail clipping and trimming their hygiene areas, hair on feet, and face. They are socialized with people and my adult Shih Tuzs. I make sure they are not poop eaters and you could leave them out if you ran to the store and your house wouldn’t be destroyed when you get back. I believe I turn out a great puppy to each home they go to. My prices are different for pet only and breeding prices.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, chocolate and tan, liver, gold, red, liver and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kara

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $750 non-refundable deposit and between $2,100 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“They are all AKC and will come with 2-3 rounds of shots and dewormer. You will be able to register them with AKC, if you’re looking for pet only or full breeding rights. If you don’t see one that you like, it transfers to another litter one time.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     I contacted Kara with Mosley Kennel on Good Dog in late September 2025 after losing my beloved dog of 13 years in June 2025. My grief was getting the best of me, and I knew it was time to open my heart and home to another little dog. I wanted a Shih Tzu puppy but didn't really want one that was too young. As fate would have it, Kara had a beautiful little 10-month-old liver colored Shih Tzu that was already potty trained for the most part. She named him Prince Shey Duschon, which is pretty classy, but I had another name in mind. My BFF and I went to meet Kara and Prince on October 4, 2025, and we all immediately clicked, including Prince. I asked Kara if I could hold Prince and she said "Of course!" Prince stayed in my lap the entire two hours we were at Kara's house. It was as if he instinctively knew I was going to be his new mommy. Before I paid my deposit, I asked Kara if I could take custody of Prince after I returned from a pre-planned trip. Kara said, "Not a problem." She was so easy to work with and very responsive to my questions. I could tell Kara genuinely cares for all of her puppies and the puppy parents. She has integrity and is an absolute Godsend. I paid my deposit and told Prince I would be back to get him in a few days. I took custody of my little Prince on October 19, 2025, and absolutely adore him. He is spoiled twice over. Kara spoiled him first and I picked up where she left off! :-) I highly recommend Mosley Kennel to anyone looking for a happy, healthy, well-bred and well-trained Shih Tzu. Once you purchase your puppy, Kara will continue to avail herself for any questions you may have. She believes in "service after the sale."

    I was going through the grieving process from losing my 12 year old shih tzu and I just knew that it was too soon to welcome a new puppy into my life. Until I met Kara and her new puppies at the time. She was so patient and willing to talk about every single thing I was worried about, so I flew out to Texas to meet her. When I met Kara and my new puppy, Whiskey, I knew I was in the right place. Whiskey was absolute perfection and with Kara’s motherly touch, I welcomed Whiskey into my life.     Kara was amazing though out the whole process of getting my sweet boy Dobby!! She was so up front with everything about my puppy. Even went into great detail for my dad because of our two previous attempts to get me a dog. She was incredibly understanding with him about his concerns and gave him the information he asked for right on the FaceTime call and if she didn’t have it she sent it to me the very next morning to send to him. It really was above and beyond that Kara went with us. Dobby has adjusted so well to Minnesota and faster than we thought he would. He’s going to be trained to be my emotional support dog.
