Meet the breeder

I'm Catherine W., the breeder behind Must Be Frenchies & Crown Of Curls Bolonka located in West Plains, MO. Q. & A. with Catherine

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was raised on a farm, we raised cattle, horses, and hogs. I took a job with a kennel when I was 18 and worked there many years learning practical skills of canine husbandry, breeding, whelping & health, our kennel participated in vaccine trials with Fort Dodge and I learned a lot about communicable disease. As I worked I slowly started my own kennel and put into practice all that I had learned.
  • What makes your program special?

We truly do take health and temperament as 1st priorities! Our dogs are created to be lifelong family members, showing and breeding are just a bonus. Most of our puppies are placed in pet homes with people who want a true to type, healthy example of the breed that they can be proud to own, a dog that is exactly what it is supposed to be in all aspects including personality, traits & tractability.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka puppies include silver, gray, cream, red, brown, black, fawn, and wolfgray. French Bulldog puppies include cream and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Catherine has a very professional breeding operation. In the beginning I had a lot of questions regarding the breed and our puppy in particular. She answered all of my questions…even the tough ones without sugar coating it. She also provided full genetic information of the puppies parents and every bit of paperwork that is required including all vaccinations and akc documents. I asked to see her facility and she obliged after doing some due diligence on me for safety reasons. We had a nice meeting where she showed me all the puppies, the parents and the full facility. The breeding facility was incredibly clean. All puppies/dogs had plenty of room and pens that included access to the outside. Inside she had professional equipment to weigh and care for the dogs in the manor a good breeder should. She sent me off with a backpack of goodies and the knowledge that we were purchasing from a conscientious, thoughtful breeder. Also the payment process was very straightforward. We traveled 8hrs to get this little fellow and we are glad we did. So far so good! He is a healthy, sweet male pup and has acclimated very well with out family and female adult Boston Terrier. I would highly suggest Catherine as a breeder.

Catherine is a Great Breyer to get your French bulldog from. She answered every question i had without hesitation and responded quickly.. My puppy came with a wonderful gift bag she put together. His AKC paperwork and current shot records were also included. Taz was already microchipped by her.. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a French Bulldog. She is based out of Missouri, but my puppy was delivered right to my door step!! Catherine was super responsive and friendly - the puppy is adorable and sweet and the delivery process went very smoothly - I am thrilled with our new addition and plan to find a new addition when the time comes through good dog and maybe even another Bolonka (and then definitely from Catherine)!

I cannot say enough about this precious baby I bought from Catherine. She has such a gentle disposition and is so smart. She has not had one potty accident in the house. She plays fetch and brings the ball right back to me after only two training sessions. She goes to work with me everyday. She doesn’t bark at anyone, loves pets, and walks right beside me. When I place her in her kennel, she lays down until it’s time for lunch. Catherine answered all my questions during our buying experience with timely responses.

I had the greatest experience working with Catherine. She was so very nice to work with, always answering all of my questions right away, and providing me with the most beautiful, intelligent, and loving puppy! I am so impressed with her background and experience working with dogs and the extensive health testing she administers. That is what I really appreciate. She really cares. Thank you Catherine!!

Catherine was wonderful to work with. Spent as long as we needed to answer all our questions. We live out of state so Catherine also took the time to do a video call so we could meet the frenchies before deciding which one to go with. We’ve now had our Petunia for about a week and she is an absolute delight. Such a fun spunky little spirit and so much love to offer.
