I'm Karen M., the breeder behind MVR Border Collies located in Benewah County, ID. We love this breed and do everything we can to help it thrive. We give each of our dogs and puppies the best care that we can. We built our program with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and it is our goal to provide each dog that comes from our program with a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, and loving care.

Why did you start breeding?
I started with Border Collies in 1988. My first BC was super smart and became my chore helper. I bred ABCA lines for many years until I saw my first Australian line BC.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
