I'm Karen W., the breeder behind Mystic Oaks Chesapeakes located in Clark, NJ. Our mission is to improve the breed through selective breeding and ample health testing. We believe that with the collective efforts of other responsible breeders, we can improve the future of the breed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Started 19 yrs old with Doxies and German Shepherds. Then I got Chessie pup, started to show her and wanted to start breeding again.
  • What makes your program special?

    Bred for temperament and medical clearances to enhance chessie lines. I will not breed any chessie until all medical clearances are done and will not overrated any of my bitches
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Puppy prices include a $200 refundable deposit and between $1,600 - $1,900 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Karen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
