I'm Franna P., the breeder behind Normandy Labs located in West Richland, WA. We are not currently breeding. All of our dogs live out their lives with us, and the current dogs either didn't meet our strict breeding standards or they have aged out.
Q. & A. with Franna
Why did you start breeding?
I was always interested in animals, growing up with Lassie and Rin Tin Tin and reading Terhune novels about Collies. When I finally got my own dog, I dove right into conformation shows, obedience, and tracking. Breeding just naturally followed. Having had both good and bad experiences over the years, I've learned a lot about breeding better dogs.
What makes your program special?
My standards are high for my own dogs and are just as high for breeding puppies. My dogs are proven capable through participating in various dog sports and are health and genetic tested for most, if not all, hereditary diseases are known in the breed. Only the best ones are bred. Since our dogs are family members and are here for life, that means we have puppies on a very limited basis.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
