I'm Elizabeth L., the breeder behind North of Center’s Australian Shepherds located in Valley St. Shelby, MI. We breed to share our love of Australian Shepherds with others. Ours pups are handled daily & are raised inside our house with our family & loved on daily. Clicker training is started in home & pups are habituated to as much as possible before they leave our house.
Q. & A. with Elizabeth
Why did you start breeding?
My husband wanted to get a pup so we studied multiple breeds. We ended up purchasing an Australian Shepherd together right before we got married. We couldn’t believe how smart and loyal this dog was! Since then, we’ve never looked back. Although I love all animals, the Aussie has stolen my heart.
What makes your program special?
My pups are born in my home! They are socialized from the day they are born with family members of all ages, the staff at the vet clinic, and visitors that love to come to see the pups! They are exposed to all sorts of things on the farm before leaving here. They are very loved and cared for! I also raise the pups using The Puppy Culture Protocol. If you’re unfamiliar with the program, I’ll share!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
