Q. & A. with Michelle
Why did you start breeding?
Since duck hunting as a teenager with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever we've never been without a desire to have at least on CBR as a hunter and family pet. Great Uncle Ferman turned us on to this breed telling us stories about his dog Goldie, whom he hunted ducks and geese with on the Missouri River. Goldie would not give up on difficult retrieves when a bird would land on a chunk of floating ice. Uncle Ferman would leave his coat once it got dark since Goldie was still out there somewhere trying to figure out how to complete the difficult retriever. Usually, the next moring Goldie would be laying on the coat that was left happily smiling with the bird by her side.
What makes your program special?
We specialize in a healthy lineage that excels as hunters and family pets.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

About River
River grew up with our teenage sons hunting ducks and geese in our farm ponds. She is very obedient. So much so that once my son forgot he told her to stay while he went to jump some ducks and forgot about her until dinner time. She was still sitting where she was told to stay until he came back to get her.
