  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies include liver roan, white and liver, liver and white, and liver. Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies include light deadgrass, light brown, dark deadgrass, deadgrass, brown, and sedge. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Samantha

Samantha has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Samantha partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Veterinarian wellness examination, vaccinations and dewormings, AKC Limited Registration, spay/neuter contract, Health Guarantee, Puppy Care Package(food, mother scent cloth, ect). The deposit goes towards the price of the puppy. If you don’t see a puppy you would adore to have you would be able to wait until another litter.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Working with Samantha at North Wind Gundogs was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Since I was traveling from Rochester, NY to Minnesota to pick up my puppy, communication and trust were incredibly important, and Samantha exceeded my expectations in every way. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer my questions throughout the process. One of the things that initially drew me to North Wind Gundogs was that Samantha was one of the few breeders I found who was committed to comprehensive health testing. Knowing that she prioritizes the health and long-term well-being of her dogs gave me a great deal of confidence in my decision. What truly sold me, though, was her home-raised approach to breeding and raising puppies. It was obvious that the puppies received a tremendous amount of enrichment from an early age. They were exposed to children, everyday household activities, and plenty of social interaction. Having a hunting family background also meant the puppies benefited from early exposure to birds and age-appropriate hunting-related experiences, helping build confidence and natural instincts in a positive way. When I picked up my GSP, she was confident, curious, friendly, and clearly had an excellent start in life. Samantha took the time to answer all my questions, go over important information, and make sure I felt prepared before heading home. The entire experience was smooth, professional, and enjoyable.     North Wind GunDogs from start to finish made me feel very confident that I was getting exactly what I was looking for.
