I'm Jennifer H., the breeder behind NorthBeach Aussies located in Saint Augustine, FL. We have dedicated ourselves to preserving our wonderful breed by competing in conformation, dock diving, agility, rally, and herding. But before all of that our dogs are our family and with that said we strive to provide all of our puppy families happy and healthy puppies that thrive as companions.
Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
I after many years of learning our breed standard and showing my dogs to AKC championships I bred my first litter of puppies and from there my passion for preserving this breed has grown.
What makes your program special?
I strive to breed healthy and sound puppies. All of my adult dogs have been cleared for hip and elbow dysplasia, by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) they have their eyes cleared annually by a board-certified ophthalmologist for hereditary eye defects. As well as they have had all of the appropriate genetic testing done through PawPrint Genetics.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
