I'm Loni M., the breeder behind Northern Lights Aussies (NL Aussies) located in Albion, MI. My dogs are my family, their pups are born and raised inside my home. I strive for excellent temperaments and loving companions. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy. Australian Shepherds are wonderful dogs!   • Why did you start breeding?

    I started raising and breeding my Aussies after a work injury that left me unable to work. My daughter bought me my first Aussie, he brought such love and happiness when I needed it most. I want to be able to give that special bond, love, and happiness to others. My dogs are my babies and will be with me forever and I make sure each of their pups finds a home that will love them as much as I do.

  • What makes your program special?

    I make sure all my dogs and their pups are healthy, happy, and loved. Start training them at 4 weeks old, teaching them the basics. I pour my heart into each of these loving babies. I do constant pics and updates for their new families, have puppy/parent day so they can bond with their pup long before they are ready to go home. I find it helps them transition better from leaving their mom and littermates.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Loni

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price varies on the pup. They come with AKC registration, their parent's genetic health test done though paw prints, UTD on shots, tails docked upon request, socialization of pup. Health guarantee. I also have ASDR registered pup and usually keep their tails This is pet Only price, does not include breeding that is an additional fee. . Deposits are nonrefundable, they may be transferred to another litter if the pup you are hoping for is not available in that litter. Deposits will expire after 12 months.”

Loni may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Loni made the experience of bringing home our puppy great. She was very responsive and kept me updated along the way with pictures and details about what was going on. She took the time to speak with me personally on the phone to explain Norther Lights Aussies history and what to expect with our new pup. When we went to pick up the puppy, she was so nice and welcoming to my husband and I. She sent us home with a care package and checked up on us a few days later. The new puppy is doing so well and adjusting great. She was basically potty trained the day we brought her home! I can tell Loni cares deeply about her dogs and the homes and people her puppies go to. The experience overall was fantastic and I am so pleased to have found the perfect dog we’ve been searching for for a long time right in my own backyard.
