I'm Sara G., the breeder behind Northern Star Australian Shepherds located in Coldwater, MI. Our dogs are bred for great temperament and health. I focus on producing dogs who will make wonderful all around/versatile family companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My husband and I adopted our first Aussie when we moved in together. My love for the breed became a passion and contributing to the betterment of the Australian Shepherd has become a goal for us. We strive to produce healthy, great temperament, all around family dogs.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our dogs are our family members. They come first always. My husband runs a small business from home and I am able to spend my time by providing a happy, clean, and loving environment for our dogs and puppies. I work around the clock to make sure our dogs/puppies are cared for properly. I am picky about where I place the babies that I’ve contributed to bringing into this world. I enjoy building a trusting relationship with my potential puppy parents! I offer lifetime breeder support for every puppy that leaves my home.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sara

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sara partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
