I'm Bonnie M., the breeder behind Northland Dachshunds located in Oscoda, MI. We’re the breeders behind Northlands. Together we raise beautiful healthy lovable puppies. Every puppy we raise is adored as part of our family from birth. Our puppies will complete your home, your family, and your heart! Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others and allow them to bring all that puppy love ❤️ home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have admired the strength and courage of this breed for over 30 years. They display loyalty, fearlessness and love. The dachshund has been in my family for many years and I want to share them with others.

  • What makes your program special?

    We give these dogs whatever they need. Tests, exams, shots and lots of attention and love. Our desire is to give our puppies good homes with exceptional doggy moms and dads.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, chocolate, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Everything went wonderfully with Bonnie for Northland Dachshunds. From the very beginning, she communicated quickly, honestly, and was always open to our questions. We loved being able to watch the puppy cam before bringing our puppy home, and it was clear how much love and care she puts into raising her dogs.     Bonnie is more than a “breeder” to me: she has become my friend as well. When I reached out to her initially, requesting TWO puppies, I’m sure she was perplexed. However, when I explained that I loved the breed SO much that I originally had my own miniature “pack” of 3 sweet girls; all 3 sharing the same Daddy but 2 having different Mamas. Sadly, I lost Gidget & Nubby in 2022 to different diseases, leaving only Emma (my oldest) who was brokenhearted & lost without her sisters. I thank Heaven for Bonnie, her vast wisdom about the breed ! Even though I’d previously shared my world with 3 Doxie Divas, I needed her input desperately since my “baby” Emma is almost 12 ; puppyhood had long passed & I was bringing home 2 bouncing baby BOYS! 💙 Bonnie made sure I was updated as the boys grew bigger & bolder, exploring their world for the first 8 weeks along the way. It meant so much to me, my sweet Emma and my 34-year-old daughter (Ashley), who has Down syndrome and Autism, and was very appropriate, to finally meet our boys, Phooey & Looey, on Valentine’s Day. ❤️❤️ I would recommend Bonnie based upon her love, respect & knowledge of the breed. Her kindness as a person is self-evident; I feel as if I gained a friend & my boys will always be a part of her life!! Phooey & Looey are the BEST and they have brought so much LOVE into our lives!!!!
