Meet the breeder

I'm Rachel P., the breeder behind Nuovo Inizi Kennels located in Scott County, TN. Native New Yorker who relocated to TN in 2022 for more property to work my dogs. I have owned, worked, and loved this breed since 2013. I am a Nurse by trade but fell in love with this breed and as the saying goes, "you can't just have one".

Q. & A. with Rachel

  • Why did you start breeding?

The sire of my very first Corso back in 2013 had won BOB at Westminster, and from that point forward it had become a dream of mine to start my own kennel where I could one day have my own bred by dog show at Westminster. That dream became a reality in 2024 when my first bred by bitch attended the Westminster show.
  • What makes your program special?

My puppies are whelped and raised in my home. I welcome families to meet my pack to get a feel for the temperament of the Sire and Dam. My dogs come with a contract and are co owned until contractual obligations are met. I provide a lifetime of mentorship. Health testing I perform (OFA, Pennhip, DSRA, Cardiac). No dog is perfect, but I strive to be better.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chestnut brindle, fawn, gray, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Rachel

Rachel has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Rachel partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“I breed for purpose, not for color. Although I do allow families to come see the litter and meet the parents, the puppies are matched once they are evaluated around 7 weeks old. They really start to come out of their shell and become their own little being. Sometimes it does work out where the puppy that the family favors, turns out to be the perfect fit. I tell everyone to fall in love with all of them, so that way you won’t be disappointed. A reputable breeder does not allow you to pick out a pup at this age. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“This includes tail dock, dew claw removal, microchip, first set of vaccines, ENS puppy culture, dewormed, potty and crate training, ear crop, limited AKC registration. Deposit can be transferred if family decides to wait for another litter or for any reason a puppy becomes unavailable.”

Contract & health guarantee

Rachel may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Rachel offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Rachel directly.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Nuovo Inizi Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cane Corso.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Dental-skeletal-retinal anomaly (DSRA), Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
