Oak Haven Aussies

Katie B.

Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Katie B., the breeder behind Oak Haven Aussies located in Denton, MD.

Q. & A. with Katie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our journey began for Brian when he was 13 years old at the Quarter Horse Congress in OH. One trip down puppy dog alley and he was headed out with his first Australian Shepherd puppy "Doc" and a big set of bull horns. We knew our first dog would be an Aussie. After searching for good lines and needing to expand our search out west, we decided to start breeding top quality lines on the East coast.
  • What makes your program special?

We take great pride in our breeding program. We work first from a reservation list and do temperament testing and begin making choices at 6 weeks old. Our Aussies are a mix of AKC show and herding lines. They are a more mellow temperament, but also athletic and fun. We have had many families return to us for 2nd, 3rd and 4th dogs!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
