Meet the breeder

I'm Kimela G., the breeder behind OkieDoxieland Dachshunds located in Oklahoma City, OK. Our dogs are bred with health and temperament at the forefront. I'm dedicated to helping families find the perfect pet for their family or a puppy for your future breeding program. We are an AKC Breeder of H.E.A.R.T.

Q. & A. with Kimela

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started back in 1995 with AKC miniature dachshunds but I lost my precious female to IVDD. I discontinued breeding at that time. I decided to try again with AKC West Highland Terriers but my time was limited and I discontinued breeding. After my Westies passed in 2018, I went back to my first love and have since found it very pleasurable breeding dachshunds again. I am expanding my program.
  • What makes your program special?

I love and nurture each and every adult and puppy. It's difficult to part with each litter. I adore their distinct personalities. I also enjoy the connection of prospective puppy parents. Just enjoyable to see happy, healthy thriving relationships that are made. I would love to get more involved in therapy pets too.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, black, black and cream, chocolate and cream, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Hi. We love our little Emery, She's now a little over 5 months old and just perfect. Kim was exceptional to work with and we highly recommend getting a puppy from her little mama's.

This little (new name Beanie) girl is so full of fun and energy that it is all day entertainment! She has a little ways to go with potty training but the accidents are so small it is not overwhelming! She is a cuddly little thing and has made me her BFF. She has a multitude of toys and seems to be really good at shaking them to death😂. She is hilarious when she gets a burst of speed from the crazies and runs a few laps around the kitchen island🤪 She learns quickly and makes us laugh! The only drawbacks to this little girl is I realized I have to be with her at all times outside as we have Great Horned Owls and Hawks in the neighborhood! So far all the neighborhood dogs love her!

Kim was great and communication went so smoothly! Vada is perfect. She loves playing with her toys, belly rubs, cuddles and ME! She is doing so well with potty training and already knows how to sit and lay down. We are working towards not chewing on my hair! My whole family has absolutely fallen in love with her.

Kimela was so kind and really knew her stuff about these puppies! It was a wonderful and seamless experience. Theo has been a great addition to our family. He is 💯 house broken, stair trained, and even sleeps through the night now! He is so fun and yet very docile. He has a big brother and sister Great Dane and they all love playing together. We bring him everywhere we go - and he always steals the show! He is the most lovable and spoiled baby! He has been checked out by our vet and has no pre-existing conditions - we did get him a full body xray and bloodwork done to validate that he is 100% healthy in all ways. Of course he is! Thank you again for completing our family! Theo has brought so much joy and laughter to our home!

We couldn't be happier with our experience with Kimela! From the very beginning, she was incredibly communicative, keeping us updated with the cutest pictures of our pup, Moose. Her dedication to ensuring that each pup is well-cared-for and loved was so evident. Moose is an absolute joy, and we are so grateful to Kimela for bringing him into our lives. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful breeder! Thank you, Kimela! 🐾
