Our last Timer baby went home today. Dusty is home with his brother Cowboy! He was so happy meeting his mama, dad and brother! The love these guys will get is beyond words! We are so happy for the both of them!

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, and we want to help make the transition smooth and healthy. Below are the most important steps to take once your puppy arrives home: ⸻ 🩺 Schedule a Vet Appointment (Within 72 Hours) Even though your puppy has already received their first vaccinations and deworming, it is very important to:    •   Establish care with your veterinarian    •   Have a wellness check completed    •   Continue their vaccination schedule    •   Discuss heartworm prevention Puppies typically need booster shots every 3–4 weeks until they are around 16 weeks old. Your veterinarian will guide you on the exact schedule. ⸻ 🪱 Continue Deworming & Parasite Prevention Even if your puppy tested negative on their fecal exam, parasites can still be present but not actively shedding. Puppies are routinely dewormed multiple times because:    •   They can contract worms from their mother    •   Eggs may not show up immediately on testing    •   Their immune systems are still developing Your vet may recommend:    •   Continued deworming at 8, 10, and 12 weeks    •   Monthly heartworm prevention (which often protects against intestinal worms as well) Staying consistent with parasite prevention protects both your puppy and your family. ⸻ 💉 Vaccination Schedule Your puppy will need:    •   Booster vaccines every 3–4 weeks    •   Rabies vaccine typically at 12–16 weeks (per state law) Your veterinarian will create a plan specific to your area. ⸻ 📍 Register Your Microchip Your puppy’s microchip must be registered in your name.
