I'm Bri & Luis, the breeder behind Once Upon a Mini Dachshund located in Modesto, CA. Our weens are more than dogs they’re our family. We care deeply about making sure our puppies go to safe, loving homes. Our dogs are bred ensuring both male and female are healthy and are taken care very well. We ensure great quality care and will do everything possible to ensure our weens are protected and loved.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got into breeding when we got our male (Augustus). I always knew I wanted to mate Delilah. When we got our male they instantly became friends and we knew they might just mate with one another. This is our first time breeding dogs and it’s definitely been an adventure.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding program is special because of the love and care we have for our weens. My partner and I just want these puppies to go to safe loving homes and to live long happy lives. We ensure great quality care of the puppies and will provide updates along the puppies journey.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Bri & Luis

Bri & Luis has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Bri & Luis partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great pride in making sure our puppies all go to good loving homes. It’s not required to have experience with the breed BUT we are always looking for owners who have done research on the breed before starting the reservation process. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price ranges from female to male and whether the puppies coat is long haired or smooth. The deposit is used to reserve the puppy. The deposit also goes towards the original price for the pup. The deposit is nonrefundable but can be transferred to another puppy in the SAME litter.”

Contract & health guarantee

Bri & Luis may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
