Meet the breeder

I'm Lisa P., the breeder behind Opalina Cocker Spaniels located in Buford, GA. I am committed to raising the bar. I want to do everything I can to better the breed and ensure my dogs and puppies are able to get the very most out of life. I love my Cocker Spaniels and I am committed to giving them the best life possible and I know you will too.

Q. & A. with Lisa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was young when we got our first Cocker Spaniel. My mom bought her at a pet store. We didn’t know at the time that most pet store puppies come from less than reputable breeders. She was not the nicest or healthiest Cocker Spaniel. She would be aggressive over her food and in her crate and she had seizures. She was my motivation to become a breeder and raise the standard of the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

My commitment is always to the health of the dogs first. All of my breeding dogs must pass health exams before breeding, including DNA screening. I want to eliminate genetic disorders from the breed and raise the standard of breeding practices to prevent producing puppies with health and behavioral problems that may lead them to a shelter.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and white, brown white and tan, red and white, buff and white, brown roan, brown and white, brown roan and tan, black and white, black white and tan, blue roan and tan, and blue roan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Lisa was amazing! She was so kind and communicative through getting my pup. I greatly appreciate her effort in trying to match puppies to people by puppy personality. Binx is an adorable little ball of fluff, and I am so happy and glad to have him!
