I'm Heather and Adam G., the breeder behind Outlaw Ridge Kennels located in Dennis, MS. We strive for athletic and intelligent dogs - the truly versatile Labrador Retriever. We breed each litter of puppies with the goal of superior temperament, health, movement, and the natural ability and drive to hunt. We take great pride in our dogs, and they produce outstanding puppies.
Q. & A. with Heather and Adam
Why did you start breeding?
My husband and I were looking for something we could do together as we grew older. Our love for labs led us Dow the path of opening a kennel. We enjoy working the dogs and participating in hunt tests.
What makes your program special?
We are a small breeding facility. Our dams are only bred every 18 months. Our goal is to advance the breed not to see how many litters we can have!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Outlaw Ridge Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
