Meet the breeder

I'm Chantel N., the breeder behind Over The Moon Dachshunds and Doodles located in Corona, Ca Hemet, Ca, CA. I am the dedicated breeder behind Over The Moon Dachshunds, located here in Corona/Hemet, CA. My primary goal is to responsibly and ethically advance this incredible breed, ensuring that every puppy is healthy, happy, and well-socialized before joining a new home. We especially strive for the best temperaments and a solid foundation for obedience in all our dogs. Our Dachshunds are cherished members of our family, and we are committed to upholding the highest standards in everything we do.

Q. & A. with Chantel

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into responsible breeding began after a heartbreaking experience with my first Dachshund, who sadly came to me with significant health issues as a result of irresponsible practices. He was taken from his mother too young and was severely undersized—a clear indicator of a poor start in life. That moment was a turning point. I became determined to do better and commit to raising only the healthiest, most well-adjusted puppies. I deeply love this breed and am passionate about providing families with a wonderful, healthy 'sausage dog' to cherish for many years.
  • What makes your program special?

Our commitment to our dogs is for life. We practice responsible breeding, which means we never over-breed and we do not rehome our dogs after they retire from our program. Each dog is a beloved family member first and foremost, and they remain with us for their entire lives. Our puppies are raised inside our home, where they receive daily handling and socialization. Before they go home, they are started on crate training and will be well on their way to being potty trained, ensuring a smooth transition into your family
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, black and tan, chocolate and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
