I'm Vanessa M., the breeder behind Paint Valley Australian Shepherds located in Holmesville, OH. We breed with the goal of providing you a puppy to fit into your family's lifestyle. Whether it's rounding up livestock, walking to the park to play fetch, or joining you on your daily jog, the Aussie is a willing companion. Aussies need an average amount of training to keep their smarts busy ;).
Q. & A. with Vanessa
Why did you start breeding?
All through middle school, I told everyone I was going to be a veterinarian. At age 15 I bought my first Aussie pup and named her Dori. She showed me how amazing it is to be owned by an Aussie, and now I want to share it with the world!
What makes your program special?
Tiny squeaking, twitching newborn puppies remind me of what an honor it is to represent the beautiful, exuberant Australian Shepherd. My purpose is to continue producing the healthiest, most adept puppies with a pedigree of genetically stable, show class Aussies.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Paint Valley Australian Shepherds was very responsive and helpful every step of the way. Vanessa shared photos as our puppy grew and shared little tidbits about her. She offered to meet us halfway and had all her paperwork in order. We renamed our pup, Stardust. She’s energetic, affectionate, and well tempered. We have the most perfect puppy.

Vanessa with Paint Valley Australian Shepherds is amazing to work with. She is super informative and straightforward with the puppies and the parents backgrounds. You can tell she truly cares about her own dogs as well as the puppies. She is very responsive and easy to work with. I picked out Harper, which I now named Paisley, and she is the most well behaved puppy I’ve ever met. Plus, she’s adorable.
If I’m ever looking for another Australian shepherd, I will definitely be reaching back out to Vanessa. 10/10 would recommend!
