I'm Cortney M., the breeder behind Palmetto Springer Spaniels located in Loris, SC. We are a small family owned operation. We are located approximately 30 minutes inland from beautiful North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Q. & A. with Cortney
Why did you start breeding?
My husband Chris grew up having Springers. One of his ESS is somewhat famous around our little community! If you mention the name Mud Duck most people know exactly who you are talking about. Mud Duck was the smartest dog my husband says he has ever laid eyes on! He still talks about him to this day! They had quite a special bond! One year Chris made the decision to buy our boys their first pair of ESS for Christmas and the rest of history! That is what lead to what Palmetto Springer Spaniels is today!
What makes your program special?
We focus on responsible breeding and quality care for each of our dogs! Our goal is that we provide you with pets that are members of your family for a lifetime! We only allow our dogs to go to homes that are committed and in for the long haul! Years past the puppy phase! Smart, loving, and healthy Springers is what we strive to bring you!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver white and tan, liver and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in a kennel on my property.

Courtney and Chris at Palmetto Springer Spaniels could not have been easier to work with. They kept us updated with the progress of our puppy until we picked her up. They have a beautiful clean facility, and are delightful to work with. We love our baby Absolut (Abbie) Mae, and highly recommend this breeder.

My husband and I found Palmetto Springer Spaniels (PSS) several states away. The day our application was accepted, Cortney contacted me through Good Dog messages with her phone number and we began our relationship starring little "Boy 1". We received regular updates, pictures, videos of playtime, grooming, and veterinary visits.
Cortney shared her husband Chris’ family history with English Springer Spaniels (ESSs) and their decision to create a family-run kennel on their home property where the entire brood can be closely looked after and socialized with adults and children. They shared stories, new and old, of their English Springer Spaniels (ESS) that showed how much they understand and truly love the breed and each dog. We felt like part of the family before we even met our little "Boy 1". So many little pups to keep track of and they make it look easy.
Our "Boy 1" was the smallest in the litter and received tiring weeks of round-the-clock feedings, love, and special care from Cortney and Chris. I know they had a heavy heart to see him go. When we picked him up we toured their kennel. It was clean, bright, warm and spacious. We met our puppy’s mother and father and watched him play while we received his information. They sent him home with a goodie bag filled with food, toys scented with mother, shot records, deworming schedule and akc limited registration.
Cortney and her husband are warm and caring people that we got to know during the wait for our little guy to become 8 weeks old and continue to correspond with. We are in love with our little Watson. He is soooo smart and handsome, sweet and playful. We highly recommend Palmetto Springer Spaniels.
