I'm Eric J., the breeder behind Palomino Aussies located in Lancaster, OH. Our Aussies are bred for health, intelligence, temperament, and athleticism so we can provide quality companions who can serve any role from the family pet, to service dog, therapy animal, working dog (eg. farms and ranches), and more! The intelligence and ease of training of the Aussie in general and our Aussies, in particular, make them a very versatile dog while being a loyal and protective member of their human’s household.
Q. & A. with Eric
Why did you start breeding?
We purchased our first AKC dog (a female Sheltie) and when we considered breeding we consulted the breeder our dog came from for advice and guidance. She got us started right. That was nearly 40 years ago. Since then we have owned and raised Shelties, Chihuahuas, Labrador Retrievers, and Australian Shepherds. We have owned Aussies for over 16 years now and have been breeding them for over 10 years.
What makes your program special?
We have selected our dogs for temperament, intelligence, and athleticism. As a result, our Aussies have been placed in a wide range of roles from the family dog to competitor, service dog, and herding dog on farms and ranches.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
