Meet the breeder

I'm Pam S., the breeder behind Pam's Border Collies located in Westerlo, NY. Our dogs are carefully selected for their superior temperaments, intelligence and trainability as well as their work ethic and eagerness to please. Our goal is to produce loyal companions and work partners that are also great family dogs, representing the best qualities of their breed.

Q. & A. with Pam

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first working dog here on the farm was by my side every day for 15 years. We joked that she was part person; we called her Jenny the Wonderdog! Jenny was the best friend and coworker I could have ever asked for. She was smart, intuitive, loyal, hard working and funny too! I always wished I hadn't spayed her as she was so exceptional! If only I had retained the ability to have pups from my Jenny....
  • What makes your program special?

I have spent years looking for a male dog that possessed the work ethic, intelligence and intuitive capacity as well as the sweet and loving nature that Jenny had. I found that in York. He has competed in and won numerous sheepdog trials. He can be intense in his work ethic here on the farm and then switch it off and come in for cuddles. He is an amazing dog! Pearl, our female dog, is the same! She is the sweetest companion you could ever want - gentle and loving - and then work off your commands like a champ!
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include tri-color, black and white, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
