I'm Kelly D., the breeder behind PapaDox Miniature Dachshunds located in Town Creek, AL. We are lifelong Dachshund lovers, having had this breed for over 40 years. We’ve reached the point in our lives where we are able to devote the time and energy to responsible breeding. Our AKC registered dachshunds live in our home and are well loved. All parents are genetically tested. Pups are socialized daily and pad trained.

Why did you start breeding?
My mother was a breeder for years and before she started, we always had Dachshunds, with my first one being nearly 45 years ago.What makes your program special?
We have a very small program—we focus on their health and well being, first. We are doing this out of love for the breed! Yes, we are small, but we want to be sure our dogs know they’re loved and not just a possession.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

“We provide a 1yr genetic health guarantee, 1st veterinarian visit, and up to date vaccinations/worming. Puppies go home pad trained, with a multitude of items for their new home and 30 days Trupanion insurance. Deposits are non refundable but exceptions can be made at the breeder’s discretion.”

Hattie is such a loyal girl. She lover her people like none other. She has produced some wonderful babies who have amazing temperament. Hattie’s puppies are offered on a spay/neuter contract.

Floki is a gentle, loving boy who loves to play and love on his people. He does well with our children and has been well socialized. Floki is one of our European imports with many well known kennels in his lines. He has an amazing coat and solid structure. Floki’s puppies will be offered on a spay/neuter contract.

About Zoom
Zoom is an amazing boy. He is so incredibly loving and calm. He has the best temperament of all of our Dachshunds and interacts well with them, including our 17 year old cat. He is well socialized with people and does great with children too. Zoom is a Canadian and American Grand Champion from impeccable, well known show lines. His puppies will be offered with limited AKC registration.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We got our sweet Maple girl from Kelly almost two weeks ago, and she is already so spoiled and loved beyond measure! I cannot praise Kelly enough for how amazing and involved she was throughout this entire process. She was timely with her responses, answered all of my questions and concerns, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed when our pup came home! We live 8 hours away from her, and she even assisted with transporting our pup to us, which made our lives a million times easier! I cannot recommend her enough! Kelly was so responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. She is a true professional and her genuine care for the puppies was evident.
