I'm Cheryl S., the breeder behind Parti Yorkies of the Grove located in Oak Grove, MO. We are a husband/wife team, we both spend time with the babies. We also have the grandchildren over so they get kiddo time. We are an animal-loving family. John has raised show pigeons since he was just a young boy and continues to raise them today. Cheryl worked as a veterinary assistant. Then she became a dog groomer over 35 years ago and has had her own grooming shop for 18. now retired, they wanted a family pet that was smaller yet had a fun personality. Our animals are family pets, but quality is of utmost importance to us. We are dedicated to making sure our Yorkies meet AKC standards.
Q. & A. with Cheryl
Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved babies of all kinds, especially puppies, and humankind. As a child, I looked for anything I could keep and raise, birds, tortoises, kittens, and a mix puppy running around loose we named him Jody.
What makes your program special?
We pride ourselves in breeding quality AKC Yorkshire Terriers. We specialize in the Parti coat color, but we sometimes have traditional colors as well. Located in Oak Grove, Missouri we are close to the Kansas City airport. That makes transporting puppies simple. We take care, and each of our puppies goes to a loving home. Also, as as a groomer for the past 36 years. Your puppy will be well introduced to grooming, baths ,blow drying .toe nail triming, and the drimmel. I feel this is such a necessary part of a yorkie's life, And it's best to learn. It's part of life and love it rather than fight it. And if they grow up having it done they have no problem. And your groomer will love you for it. Our puppies have been vaccinated, dewormed, health clearance from our vet.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, tan and white, chocolate and tan, parti, blue and gold, black and gold, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
